The Level 3 Award in Fitness Nutrition Coaching qualification will provide the learner with the skills, knowledge, and competence to provide nutritional support to clients with a range of weight management and athletic performance goals. The qualification can be completed with no prior anatomical, physiological, or nutritional background as the learner will journey through the fundamentals of human anatomy and physiology, and how the food we eat and supplements we take, impact on these basic systems. Students cannot provide meal plans or give prescribed advice. They can give healthy nutrition guidance
- Level 2 qualification in relevant field such as nutrition and/or fitness or equivalent is required. Learner must hold or be working towards the qualification.
- There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2
Learners will cover underpinning knowledge and skills for Fitness Nutrition Coaching including:
- Deliver effective dietary analysis feedback to clients.
- Develop nutritional strategies for achieving specific weight management and/or athletic performance goals.
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of clients’ dietary habits, health history, fitness goals, and dietary restrictions or preferences to create personalized nutrition plans.
- Collaborate with clients to set realistic and achievable nutrition goals based on the assessment, including weight loss, muscle gain, improved athletic performance, or overall health.
- Educate clients on the importance of balanced nutrition, portion control, and understanding food labels, empowering them to make informed dietary choices.
- Assist clients in creating practical and sustainable meal plans aligned with their goals, offering meal suggestions, recipes, and grocery shopping tips.
- Track clients’ progress, provide ongoing support and accountability through regular check-ins, food journal reviews, and adjustments to the nutrition plan.
